Mike Beauregard Biography

Mike Beauregard is an international consultant and lecturer on the application of lean manufacturing and statistical techniques to manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations. He has successfully applied lean and statistical improvement techniques in companies ranging from 10 person start-up companies to Fortune 500 manufacturers. Using his hands-on experience, Mike has co-authored eighteen published books and training systems on lean manufacturing – statistical tools including A Practical Guide to Statistical Quality Improvement published by Van Nostrand Reinhold and the highly successful SPC in Action series published by Quality Resources. His works include Experimenting for Breakthrough Improvement, a how-to book on design of experiments, and Mistake-Proof It!, an interactive computer-based training system on eliminating mistakes through poka yoke techniques.

Mike graduated from the University of Maryland in College Park in chemical engineering and has held engineering, manufacturing, and plant management positions in the discrete parts manufacturing, plastics, and chemical process industries. In 1990, as plant manager for the Rogers Corporation’s Elastomeric Products Unit, he led his site to win the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award. Winning this award was based on the results the unit achieved by integrating lean manufacturing techniques into its overall business approach.
In 2003, Mike formed Resource Engineering Consulting LLC to continue the consulting and training practice that he established as the Director of Technology for Resource Engineering, Inc.

Mike is a registered Professional Engineer and has been certified as a quality engineer. Mike is a 7-time member of the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award starting in 1995 and serving again in 2013. He served the two Connecticut quality awards from 1988 to 1997 as a senior examiner, team leader, and instructor for examiners. Mike is certified by the Supplier Excellence Alliance in Lean Implementation.
While living in Japan on an extended business assignment, Mike spent half a year studying and applying the Toyota Seisan Hoshiki (Production System) with tutelage from Ohno san.
Mike lives in South Windsor, CT with his wife Maura, a teacher of the hearing impaired, and his two children, Kevin and KC.
